What I'm Looking Forward To In 2020

Writer's picture: robinrobin

Here is a look ahead at what I'm excited about in 2020, from new music to tours to a couple of big ol' question marks

Manic - Halsey

On January 17th, Halsey will be releasing her third album Manic. It's going to feature her massive single from 2018 Without Me, and 2019 singles Graveyard, and Clementine. I am very curious to hear what Halsey brings to the table with this album, as she has stated its a much more personal album, pulling back the Halsey stage persona and revealing Ashley.

The Bastards - Palaye Royale

Another album that is supposed to be due out sometime early 2020 is Palaye Royale's third album The Bastards. One thing I enjoy about Palaye Royale is, like My Chemical Romance before them, they are very dedicated to their aesthetic for this era. Another similarity to MCR, is the upcoming graphic novel by Emerson Barrett, which I am also interested in checking out.

The I Don’t Know How But They Found Me LP

As any frequent reader of this blog will have realized by now, I’m a huge fan of IDKHow, and one album I’m most anticipating next year will be their first full length album. Per reports, the album is scheduled to be recorded in January, I have my fingers crossed for a spring or summer release and hopefully another chance to see them in concert.

Hella Mega Tour

Speaking of summer, as of right now, the biggest tour of 2020 will be the Hella Mega Tour. Fall Out Boy, Green Day and Weezer all performing? My high school self can hardly contain herself! Catch me in the 7th row at the Minneapolis date, rain or shine! This tour will be one not to miss.

Whatever It Is My Chemical Romance is Doing…

My Chemical Romance was kind enough to give us two weeks to recover from the epic reunion concert before dropping their next cryptic post. On January 3rd they dropped a post of a person wearing a skull mask, black cloak, and dagger. The caption on said post was just the Union Jack, which has led many to believe that UK tour dates are soon to be announced. I’m anxiously anticipating the day US dates will be announced, or even possibly new music, as I don’t see why they would introduce all that new imagery for no reason.

All Time Low and Their Creepy Panda

Also this past week, All Time Low seemed to be ushering in a new era, as they released a video of someone in the panda costume from the "Birthday" music video lighting a Last Young Renegades jacket on fire. The whole thing felt very reminiscent of when Fall Out Boy came back from their hiatus and the video for My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up). Since then the video has been deleted, and their official website and members of the band then turned their social media profile pictures black. I have a feeling we will be hearing more from them before we hear from My Chemical Romance.
